ATTN: MOC - Writing with CLAUSES and APPOSITIVES

Today we are targeting developing your writing through the use of appositives and clauses.

Targets:
1. Identify clauses and appositives in writing.
2. Use clauses and appositives in writing.





Your response should be written and submitted via Google Docs. My email is bfeick@plymouth.k12.wi.us. Please, title your response in the following manner: last name + first initial (space) assignment title.

For example: "FeickB - Writing with Appositives and Clauses"

Assignment:
1. Locate a news article of interest through one of the following news sites.
             cnn.com
             espn.com
             msnbc.com
             foxnews.com
    If you have another site in mind, just check with me.

2. Read the article and identify3 sentences with appositives and 3 sentences with dependent clauses.

3. Copy and Paste the article link into Google Docs.

4. Copy and Paste 3 sentences with appositives and 3 sentences with dependent clauses. Italicize the appositives and dependent clauses.

        Appositive Example: Joe, a builder of sandcastles, won third prize at the beach contest.
        Dependent Clause Example: While we went to the store, Jenna took a nap.
            
5. Write a summary (4-6 sentences) of the article. Use and italicize two appositives and two dependent clauses.
